# Get access

How you get into Tanomis: an organization, an invitation, and a first workspace, and what to ask for if you are setting one up.

You reach Tanomis through an organization. Either someone invites you to one, or you are setting
one up for your company. Both paths end with a workspace you can select and an agent you can run.

- **Joining:** accept the invitation, sign in, select the workspace you were granted.
- **Setting up:** Tanomis creates the organization and its first tenant with you as owner; you
  invite your team and grant tenants.
- Sign-in is through the hosted identity provider. Enterprise single sign-on is planned.

## Join an organization

1. Open the invitation link from the email, or run `tanomis org accept --token TOKEN`.
2. Sign in. The hosted login is a browser flow; the CLI's device flow prints a code to enter.
3. If the organization has a default tenant, you are granted it on acceptance. Otherwise an owner
   grants you a tenant.
4. Select the workspace: `tanomis workspace use ORG --tenant TENANT`, or open the Console.

## Set up an organization

Creating an organization and provisioning its first tenant are platform operations performed with
Tanomis. Ask for:

- the organization name and slug;
- the first customer tenant, and whether it should be the default;
- a sandbox tenant beside it for testing, if you want one from the start;
- the owner: you.

Once it exists, [invite your team](/guides/manage/organization-members), grant tenants, and
deploy. Owners and admins can create additional tenants and offboard them in
**Settings → Organization → Tenants**. Attaching an existing tenant and changing the default
remain operator operations; see [Customer tenants](/guides/manage/tenants-and-environments).
