# Export an auditor package

Hand an auditor a self-contained export of the ledger segment they need, with the integrity metadata to check it.

An auditor package is an export of a slice of the audit trail with the integrity metadata needed
to check it: the entries, their hash chain, and the signatures. It is built for someone outside
your organization who needs to verify what happened without access to your workspace.

- Export from **Console → Assurance → Integrity → Export auditor package**, scoped by tenant and time range.
- The package contains ledger entries and integrity metadata, never prompt or tool payload bodies.
- A valid chain proves the record is intact; it does not by itself prove an external system
changed. Read that system for effects.

## Export

1. Open Assurance in the Console for the tenant in question.
2. Filter to the agents, decisions, or time range the request covers.
3. Choose Export auditor package. The export runs in the background; the screen reports when it
is ready and where to download it.

Owners and admins can export. The export itself is an audited action.

## What is inside

| Part | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Ledger entries | The decisions, attributions, approvals, and enablement changes in scope |
| Chain metadata | Each entry's hash and its link to the previous entry |
| Signatures | The tenant's signing material so the chain can be checked independently |
| Content references | Hashes of the content decisions were about, so an auditor can match content you provide separately without the package carrying it |

## What an auditor can conclude

The package demonstrates that the entries are complete for the range and unaltered since they
were written, and that each decision was attributed to a principal and a version. Independent
assurance beyond that depends on the anchor and key custody your environment uses; an offline
verifier is planned, see [Verify the ledger independently](/guides/audit/verify-the-ledger).
