# Verify the ledger independently

Check the audit ledger's hash chain and signatures with an offline verifier you run yourself.

The audit ledger is append-only, hash-chained, and signed. An offline verifier that an auditor runs outside Tanomis is planned.

This page is planned and not yet written, because the capability it describes is not yet
generally available. The structure is here so you can see where it fits; the notice comes off
when it ships.
